Crossbreed Dogs

A Crossbreed (or crossbred) Dog is what you get when you breed one purebred dog to another purebred dog of a different breed.

Crossbreed dogs also popularly known as designer dogs are dogs which have been intentionally bred from two or more recognized dog breeds and not from dogs with no purebred ancestors.

The primary identifying mark of a crossbred “Designer Dogs” is that the resulting puppies are referred by a portmanteau word comprising of syllables or names from the breed names of the two purebred parents, such as such as the Puggle (Pug and Beagle cross).
