Apprearance

The Bea Tzu is a small dog withround eyes, floppy ears, heart-shaped nose, and a wide head.

They have short, smooth and silky coat, and its color may vary from pale cream or white, to black or even tricolor. They have longer hair around their nose and face, giving them a cute whimsical look.

Temperament & Personality

Bea-Tzus are playful, sweet, loyal and loving dogs who love to please their owners and being the center of attraction of the family members.They are very protective and possessive for their family members makes them a good family watchdog.

They are a fairly active breed of dogs who gets along well with kids and other pets in the family making them an great companion dogs for homes with children.

Owing to their affectionate and adjusting personality they are suitable for apartment lifestyle, provided they get sufficient exercise and playtime. They are not much adaptable to cold climate, though they are pretty much resistant to heat. 

Care ~ Exercise

While the Bea Tzu is a bundle of high-energy, it doesn’t take a lot of activity time to meet his needs. Daily walks, jogs coupled with some indoor playtime will channelize their energies well and keep them mentally and physically stimulated.

Grooming

The Bea Tzu’s are hypoallergenic dogs and has soft low-shedding coat making him an ideal choice for those that don’t like constant vacuuming. However, brushing your dog regularly is important, or else they would end up getting their hair matted.

Clip their nails regularly and brush the teeth twice a week and check the ears for infections on a weekly basis. Bathe them only when necessary with a good dog shampoo. A visit to professional groomers once in a while is recommended  to keep the hair around their face trimmed, tidy and clean.

Health Problems

The Bea Tzu is a healthy breed and has an average life-span of  approximately 10 to 15 years. Like all other dogs, these dogs are prone to some diseases

Training

Being a smart and clever dog, the Beagle Shih Tzu mix would pick up training very easily. Your pet may at times show some signs of stubbornness owing to the Shih-Tzu lineage. You need to be calm and patient while training them.

Positive Reinforcement: Be firm in your approach, but never be rude to the pooch as this may strike some behavioural issues with them. Encourage him with rewards, praises and treats for a job well done versus scolding.

Obedience training, socialization crate training in their puppy hood days will help them in nurturing into a playful and calm dog.  Be aware that your dog does not develop issues like “small dog syndrome” which is common in dogs of smaller size.

Feeding/Diet

Provide good quality dry dog food to the Bea-Tzu two times daily. Refer an expert to consider the quantity of food for these small sized dogs. The Beagle Tzu mix is an active dog and needs good nutritious food to be healthy.

Bea-Tzu Puppies Care

The Bea Tzu pups can grow into a stubborn furry pets if early socialisation at a young age is not started.  Great care should be taken while handling the little puppies to avoid any injuries to his tiny limbs.

Never be rude to your little Bea Tzu or there will be training-related or behavioral issues in its adulthood. A positive reinforcement-based approach is recommended.
