Grooming

This Cocker Spaniel Australian Shepherd cross is a moderate maintenance dog. Since both of his parent breeds shed seasonally so weekly grooming will be required for the Cotralians.

Brush your pet’s hair 4-5 times a week with a comb or brush in order to remove any dirt and loose fur that may be lying on the body. This will keep the hair untangled, clean, and shiny.

Clipping their nails of the paws once a month or so to keep the feet healthy and snag free.

Bathing only needs to occur once every month or whenever your pooch gets dirty. Clean and dry your dog’s ears especially after a bath, because the Cotralian has folded over ears, moisture can accumulate and cause ear infections.

The Cotralians is generally a healthy breed and with life span of 12-14 years. However it is prone to some health issues like deafness, so hearing checks are essential early on.

Cotralians are intelligent dog breeds, thus they are easy to train and respond well to consistency.
